| This expression shows aggression and
submission at the same time. aggression is shown by the
snarling. The lack of self-confidence - submission - is
shown by the flattened ears, drawn back lips and small
eyes. The dog will not bite if the opponent accepts its
submission or lets it escape. This expression is often
erroneously taken for fear-aggression, but aggression and
fear never motivated an individual at the same time. The
reason for this confusion is that the expressions used by
dogs and humans to show submission are the same as to
show fear, only with quantitative differences which
become qualitative. An expression of less fear, is not
fear but submission |
